About The Property

This Wilderness Property consists of 15 acres.  The land is relatively level with 660 feet of river frontage on the Klamath River in California.  This property is surrounded on all four sides by the Siskiyou National Forest.  The historical name of "Fish Camp" has been passed down through generations because of the property's unique and hard to find tranquil river frontage as well as its utopian settlement location.  "Fish Camp" is truly a magical place.

The property was a prehistoric Indian Village site, prior to 1860.  There was also a small enclave of settlers' homes on this property after the 1860's.  A Victorian home stood on the property at one time and one of the original settlers cabin stood until just about a year ago.  The Pony Express trail runs through the property and was the main road on that side of the river until Highway 96 was constructed.  As you can see, there is a lot of history on this property.  Artifacts from this property currently reside in the Siskiyou County Museum.  There are still antiquities that can be found on the property for the treasure hunting enthusiast.  The Klamath River has long been known for its placer deposits.  You can pan or dredge for gold on this property.

More recently, the land was used by great fishermen and guides because of its very level useable land.  As you can see from the above photo, this property features a unique location on an inside bend of the river (slack water).  In rainy years, you can find a sandy beach suitable for swimming or flat water kayaking in the front of the property.  The other side of the river has a steep bank with a dramatic hillside which goes up to Highway 96.  Looking in either direction, up stream or downstream from the grassy meadow of this property, you'll see breathtaking views of the Siskiyou Mountains Wilderness Area which is located in the Six Rivers National Forest.  The Marble Mountains can be seen to the east.  No other structures or privately owned properties can be seen from this location.

In the photo above, you can see a small structure in the upper right portion of the property.  This building is a small cabin with a bedroom, living room and kitchen which was built in the 1960's by a famous fishing guide "Kutskey" who owned the property at the time.  The structures were built over the years and probably add no value to the land.  The small cabin on the property has been described as "relatively warm and relatively dry".  There is also a small outbuilding approximately 20 feet to the left of the cabin which has a flush toilet, shower, sink, washing machine and hot water heater.

Reynolds Creek, a year round creek is located on the north end of the property.  There is no electricity on the property (off the grid) but Reynolds Creek has suitable drop to support a small hydro-electric system.  Parts of the creek are inches deep while other areas are several feet.  In fact, the owners believe that steelhead trout spawn in this creek.  The source of the creek can not be confirmed, but the owners believe that the water source for Reynolds Creek comes from nearby springs.

Abundant in wildlife and pristine in nature
this may be the perfect property for you!
